Competition MUNCIE PULLS: How did your clutch/auto hold?

Are you happy with your clutch, auto trans?

Did it do what you expected?



That was a tough track.

My Mitchell clutch held well, did all I asked of it.



I'll stick a few up on the poll, that I know of, that were there.

DTT auto for me. No problems with the transmission at 95 psi boost and 4300+ RPM.



I discussed which gear to pull in with most everyone there from Bill K. , Sleddy, and most of the EE crew to Dave Mitchell himself.



I didn't know if I had the HP to pull 3rd gear because my wheel speed would have been in the high 40 mph's. Dave was the only one who advised me to pull 3rd. I didn't take his advice, and I kept it down in 2nd gear and locked the converter and that was my mistake.



The last time I looked at the tach it was at about 4300 and climbing fast. I cringed and quit looking at it because I didn't want to know how high it got. If the nut on the compressor wheel of the hybrid turbo hadn't come off, who knows how high it would have went.



Last year after the beating I took, I thought auto's were at a severe disadvantage in pulling. Now, I'm convinced that the proper auto can be competitive. I'll pull a few more times this year and try to prove my point.

My delivery valves were a tad too extreme for the tight convertor... .
