I don't know if this belongs here, exactly, but I'll give it a go.

Spotted an '03 red CTD w/ "Got Diesel" sticker in back window wednesday or thursday around lunch.

It had a BIG exhaust on it. Sounded great.

What I'd like to know is if it's the 5 incher from big exhaust or if it's from someone locally? Also, what type of muffler (if any) are you using.

thanks,

jeff.

I'm down for a few weeks for a class. Problem is, I don't have much anything else to except figure out new ways to spend $ on the truck. Think I may have got a bad case of 'bombitis' down here. ;)

Jeff, That's my red srw truck. The system is 4" on the down pipe then five inches from there. I love the sound but it resonates bad under a load at 2000 rpm. I'm thinking about taking the muffler off to see if that solves it. The shop that did the work is City Muffler 4843 nw 23rd in Okc. phone#405-942-4595. They also have chips, air systems etc. Travis

City Muffler does 24V stuff but I don't think there is anyone around here that does 12V stuff except me, most shops are lost on 12V's, I'm not... ... and I'd like to do more of them... ..... Plates, Springs, Timing ect.

As luck would have it, I found out about city muffler a couple weeks ago. I got the same set-up, 4" down-pipe, 5" the rest of the way. I'm using the muffler they provided.

I used the clamps/ hangers they provided, but only to hang the system. I picked up some band clamps for the joints.

I haven't noticed any drone at all. In fact, I think it seems quieter in the cab than my factory system minus the muff. & resonator.

My BE 5" has no drone whatsoever. It did before I put a gutted 10x51 Donaldson on it. NOTE 9x51 would fit a little better. Cutting out the baffles was a BEE-otch, so be sure to get the free-flow version if you get one. Straight 5" is just a LITTLE bit RUDE.

Sound now is about PURRfect.
