MWTDR kick-off June 27 Omaha Nebraksa

. . at Hayworth Park in Bellevue Nebraska (town next to Omaha, Nebraska) from noon until 6pm. Bring picnic and bbq stuff if you'd like -- bbq pits are available. Hayworth Park is also a campground; 402-293-3098. They'll take reservations but they're booking fast due to College World Series being in town that weekend too.

To get to Hayworth Park take the Bellevue exit off of Iowa I-29 (exit 42; Hwy 370). You'll need a couple bucks ($1 for a vehicle; +1 for the camper; might be a little more if duals) to pay the toll bridge fee when you cross the Missouri River. After you pay toll; turn left. That's Hayworth Park.

Cummins Great Plains is going to have representatives there to promote themselves and help our group.

Inland Truck Parts will also be there. ITP is a really nice truck parts and service center. They've done work for several MWTDR members and I don't think I've ever heard anything bad about them.

So we're fortunate to have some vendor participation right off the bat! Come on out and ask questions. I think both those vendors are going to setup small booths and give a short presentation on what they are and what they offer.

No specific timing here; this is an 'open house' type of event to get people together.

I'll be camping there that weekend; look for the CTD pickup that says "Big MAK" on the plate and the HithHiker II LS fifth wheel. Other TDR folks will also be camping out.

See you there!

I'll try to get down there for a couple of hours. . probably around noon.

I have to work 4PM to 4AM that weekend and Friday night... . so I won't have

much time, which is the way it seems to be a lot more lately.

Guess thats why 'work' is a 4 letter word eh?

It will be good to see some TDR members!

Sorry guys, I'll be missing out again. Heading out to a Jet Rally (Remote Control Jets) - had this planned since last year.

Hope everyone has good time and the weather is with cool temps and sunny skys.

Lots of nice trucks showed up and I had a great time talking to everyone. Hope we can do this again.

Sorry I had to leave so early, "work" really tick's me off some times.

Had a great time while I could stay there. . I hope next time it will be my weekend off!

I liked the park, and next time if it is held the same place I'll bring something to throw on the grill! Looking forward to the next one! I'll even try to wash my truck before then! :)

I might even have a few things figured out on the OBD-2 software so we could put it to use. If I do get something figured out I'll bring it along so people can try it out.

Thanks Everyone! It was a tremendous relief to Rob; Eric; and myself that we weren't the only ones there! :D

(fear of jumping into a new venture... )

We think we have a really good start to the MWTDR chapter. 24 trucks "signed in".

Inland Truck Parts was nice enough to come out and show off their wares. We had one rep from Cummins (thanks Mel!) who did what he could; his tech help didn't show so he was winging it. One of these times we'll get a Cummins tech out to the meeting and he can help with OBD; etc.

We're going to have a BBQ at Steve's (Omaha) on July 31st.

I'd also like to get a plan layed out for a MWTDR campout ASAP so everyone can mark their calanders. We had a good representation from Des Moines and KC so everyone put in a vote for a really nice campground somewhere between DesMoines-Omaha-KC that will take reservations and we'll get that going too.

Also start PM'ing or emailing us on places to go for Sept or Oct. Like I said above; we definitely want to do some things close to KC and close to Des Moines. So you'all near those towns let us know where/what so you don't get stuck with the commute all the time! We have a mediocre dyno in Omaha but perhaps there's a better option for a Dyno Days in KC or Des Moines?
