Hemmen1, you are comparing flywheel numbers with "at the wheel" HP numbers. The new stock HO ew dynoed was 261hp (if I remember correctly, the one we dynoed at Diesel Thunder in Spokane back in Sept. ).

My 2001 ETH stock clutch held 355hp/860tq just fine even towing WOT, it finally slipped when I was doing a burnout.

FWIW

DC specs to their suppliers (sachs) a safety factor of 1. 2. (1. 2xtorque) Sachs generally tries to beat that by 15%.

I would be suprised if they didn't have a different clutch for the new H. O.

We have been told by the Dealer that they carry the same part numbers, so to make sure we are having someone remove their clutch and send it to us so we can compare. I will be able to see if there have been any changes and we will be able to put both of the pressure plates on our plate load table, that will tell us to the pound if there is a difference. We will also be able to compare the clutch disc material to the earlier models. I will post as soon as I have the results in.

I hope this will clear up the controversy.
