After turkey hunting today I found out my 04. 5 wouoldn't start. Turned over fine but no fire so I called my friendly tow truck and had it towed to the nearest Dodge dlr (only one in my little town). [I didn't buy the truck at this dlr either].

The MIL is lit but the dlr won't know until Monday what the tro is. As best I can tell from the owner's manual it could be emission related but we won't know until Monday. I had plans for the truck this weekend like a spray-in bedliner, new shell and pyro gauge.

Sure miss my truck! Very happy with it so far, 1000 miles on the odometer with 17. 0 and 17. 3 hand calculated.

Any clues?

Codes?

Shoulda checked for codes before you had them tow it to dealer.

If its the crank or cam sensor the injectors wont fire. If a diesel

won't start its not getting fuel, or not at the right time. :)

Hi Larv,

Not good! I hope they get if fixed for you ASAP.

If you would, please let us know what the problem was.

O.

OHale, I will post when I found out. Also hoping the tow charges are covered under Dodge warranty. It was about 25-30 miles for them to come get me.

Hi Larv,

I believe towing to the nearest Dodge dealership (in this case your dealership) is covered under your warranty. They should also offer you a loaner while they diagnose your vehicle.

You bought a new vehicle from them and they should take good care of you!

I am sure this will turn out well for you and sorry to hear it happened. I am glad you weren't on a long trip far from home.

OHale, I agree with you but I didn't buy the truck from this dlr! Therein lies the rub! They will still cover under Dodge warranty but may not be happy about it! Hopefully find out more tomorrow!

Larv

Hi Larv,

They get paid by Dodge for warranty work so you are a paying customer. If they are really nice to you maybe you'll buy from them next time. ;)

Just got my truck back today. Originally the service tech thought it was a bad computer module. However, the fuel return valve was stuck in the "open" position due to a small metal filing in the valve. Sooooo all the fuel needed by the motor was being returned to the tank. At least that's how I understand it.

For thoise of you that suspected a fuel problem you were "right on!"

Larv

Thanks for the info Larv,

Sounds like your dealer was on the ball. Frankly, I didn't know the 24 valves had a fuel return line. Learn something new every day.

BTW, my truck shipped (KZ) last night. Predicted to be here in a month.
