My pipes were really getting bad (2 leaks) so I had to do something. Just by luck I was given a brand new pair of 3" Dynomax bullet mufflers by a fellow drag racer who tried them on his Car and were too loud for the noise regs at the track. I put them in tandem and they were just a bit longer than the Flowmaster I had 'till now, and that needed a pipe to make up for the stock muff. I went and got the Walker replacement tailpipe, Xfer case pipe, and staight pipe (length according to wheelbase) and went to work. Though you really need an offset inlet muffler, I made do.

I gotta say, it sounds really good! A bit louder than the flowmaster, but not offensive and the turbo whistle is much more obvious. I believe this system is adequate for my stock engine even with the crappy bend in the X-fer case pipe. I will tow this weekend and really put it to the test.

If anyone wants Part Numbers, I can list them.

:cool:

Tailpipe PN

I was wondering if the tailpipe was squashed real bad over the axle like it comes from the factory. If it isn't I'd sure be interested in it. My truck is 4x4 so it is quite bad and would like to remedy this cheaply.

Thanks

CR, I think the tailpipe looks great! Nice and smooth. It's the transfer case pipe which is bent like the original with real crappy bends. I have the part numbers, only I don't know which is which. It's the T. pipe, X-fercase pipe, and length to make up to the muffler. The problem I had was hitting the right parts house which carries Walker. Seems everyone is only carrying noname brands.

Walker Numbers and price;

45185 $39. 99

44353 $29. 99

45105 $49. 99

P. S. I really like how it turned out- I have much better hi speed acceleration and get 16# boost without any problem. An improvment over the flowmaster. :D

Let us know which part number is which, if you don't mind. I would guess it's the most expensive of the three, since it has more bends. Mine also has the nasty tailpipe with the crush in the top. Wouldn't mind getting that put on the scrap steel pile where it belongs! :D I'll be removing the muffler while I'm at it.

I recently heard a "muffler free" Cummins chugging up a hill with a trailer in tow. Love that Cummins sound! :D My friend's 'stroke just doesn't have a good sound. Just rattles. He'll get the right one next time. :rolleyes: The fuel mileage difference really pi$$es him off.
