Have you put it in yet? I've had mine for over 1 month and I don't think I'm going back to the 16 cm2 anytime soon. Makes the truck slower! I intend on going to the dyno on 15 Dec. The only mod difference is the housing swap. I'm anxious to see the changes.

Try it you'll like it...

Hey Forrest!

Good luck on the 12cm2 install... I think you'll like it!

Hey Matt!

Where have you been hiding? You said, "Makes the truck slower!" in your reply. Are you saying slower w/ the 12 or 16? It will be interesting to see the dyno numbers... Even if the top end power was off a bit I would probably still stick w/ a 12 or 14 for driveability enjoyment.

I guess I just like the smaller housing after trying them all...

Matt,

How'd you handle the downpipe--did you swap in a new one, or did you modify your existing one?

The more I read, the more I like the 14. On the other hand the 16 requiring no downpipe mods to install is pretty attractive too.

Mike,

once you get a 16 in there and spend the time getting the turbo off and busting the turbine housing loose, you're PROBABLY gonna wish you'd gone with a smaller housing...

I believe there are 12 and 14cm housings that are non wastegated and do not require downpipe modification... they'll cost you a little more than an old factory 12cmW housing someone's got laying around, but will be "easier"...

by all means, do the 16, but it is my opinion that you'll be left wondering "damn... wonder what that 12 would have felt like?"

;)

The downpipe was shortened by an exhaust shop near me. I've never tried a 14cm2 on my truck. But I know that there is NO lag compared to the 16cm2 housing. If there is not an EGT problem towing in the summer, then I'll be keeping it on. The 16cm2 made the truck seem slower. I can now spin the tires where I couldn't before. 15 Dec will tell me what the differences are in horsepower.
