stock clutch hydraulic system?

Any benefit to FASS fuel/air seperation?

I installed a 2 micron secondary fuel filter today. I put it inline after the factory filter. I must say it is not a difficult job if you have some fabrication skills but, with all the running around it took to get the parts together (other than the filter I had on the shelf) it would have been much easier and not a whole lot more money to order the kit from glacier diesel power. In fact if you count your labor for anything the kit is much cheaper than chasing down the parts and fabricating the braket to hold the filter, plus you get a better looking bracket. Anyway this is how it looks.

Does anyone know if there are any issues with fuel delivery when adding a second filter, IE the more items the fuels flows through the more restrictions and PSI needed to flow X amount of fuel, I assume " not up on fuel pumps" there is a pump in the tank to move fuel up and to the injection pump after that its 30K psi Oo. Looks like a really cool setup, what do you estimate you have into it $$ wise.

I was thinking about all filters the other day and the pump at the fuel stop had a filter on it... ... 30 micro :--) I think my screen door filters more.

MAshley: I'm sure there is a limit on how much you can push fuel through. I do not have a fuel pressure guage but guys that have done this modification note about a 1/2 psi drop. I was watching my rail pressure guage to compare before and after install pressures and there was no difference but I am not a hot rodder either. ;)

Probably have 75 bucks into it. Aluminum for the bracket just came off the rack at the shop (freebie). 2. 5 hours to fabricate the bracket and do the install, plus another 2 hours running around getting parts.

secondary filter

I had an 85' Ferd 6. 9 litre diesel and installed a secondary filter on it but I used the new filter as the first filter simply because the new filter was obtainable for free. I changed it twice as often as the factory one. It worked great.

I think the in-tank pumps can handle a little more restriction in the lines than the older external pumps could. That's the impression I get, anyway. Nevertheless, it's prudent to install a fuel pressure gauge before the install so you can get a sense of how hard you're working the stock pump.

I have the GDP kit and I installed a fuel pressure gauge between the 2-micron filter and the CP3. My fuel pressure at idle is 18psi and at 30 pounds of boost it has never dropped below 15psi. I still run my factory 15-micron fuel filter as well.
