I am really glad to see your numbers. I don't believe I have seen posted numbers on the 6. 7L yet. This June in NC there is a diesel get together and I have been thinking about putting my quiet smokeless beast on the dyno. :-laf

It's interesting that the dyno numbers which are rear wheel are the same as engine rating. There is no loss for gear train.

I would not trust those numbers you should be around 300RWHP stock.
I dynoed my 3500 C&C at may madness, but only HP was measured, and the rear wheel HP was close to the advertised rating at 305HP. In fact it cost me the trophy in the stock class, because I expected a little loss in HP, so my number I gave was 300HP before the dyno. The first run was 299 HP (would have won it) and the second was 304 HP which eliminated me from the competition. But I wouldn't believe the official Ford numbers, I test drove the new 6. 4 and thought It was very poor in throttle response. The new 6. 7CTD in the regular truck W/auto seemed like I was in a sports car as far as the acceleration was concerned, and would hands down beat a 6. 4 in the stock form.

It was on a dynojet dyno at Dream Chaser Racing Engines in Amarillo, TX.

Dyno runs were made in 4th gear with the tow/haul on. Those numbers were the 3rd pull, the second was 347 hp, 640 tq.

I trust the numbers. I don't think my truck would be the only one that was off for the day. Two other trucks hit within (I think 10hp) of there last runs on a different dyno. ) All other trucks were close to guessed hp.

Very interesting JohnBower.

What was the correction factor?

I dynoed 300/540 a few weeks ago, no mods except EGR unplugged.

I am also skeptical. You GAINED 2 horsepower and 3 lb/ft torque ABOVE the factory rating?

Had my truck on Dunbar's Dyno last September and had 312/564 at the rear wheels. :D

AFE Magnum Force Stage II w/Proguard 7 and H&S.

OK you guys have some special stock trucks. I have seen many truck dynoed and never have I seen no loos to the rerar wheels. Just let me know how you figure that those can be accurate numbers.

I lost 50 hp and 90 lb/ft. That's 14. 3% hp and 13. 9% torque.

But, our trucks, like the dynos, are machines, machines can and will be different. Plus correction factor like humidity, temp, altitude, all that stuff comes into play.

I actually thought my numbers were going to be lower.

If your ever down in San Antonio Fuel Injection Specialties has a very modern Mustang dyno with PowerDyne control & data acquisition software that works great. It plugs into your trucks diagnostic port and turbo boost sensor. Mustang makes one of the few well known dyno's that makes resistance and allows you to fully spool the turbo. Other Dyno's force you to try to power brake the truck in order to spool the turbo. With 10% resistance my truck made max power in 6th gear at 95 mph. The resistance type dyno's allowed my truck to make 8 lbs more boost.

I think my numbers from a past dyno in Buda on a dyno that didn't make resistance were flawed and over estimated the output. I suspect those numbers that are too close to the crank numbers must be flawed in the same way. The last thing Dodge is going to do in their marketing battle with Powerstroke and Duramax is under estimate power numbers.
