My sketchup is still functioning months later. I just double checked, but I have SketchUp 7. 1 and it is unlicensed as there is nothing under the licensing tab. I think you may have downloaded SketchUp PRO which is more of a professional level CAD program and is not free.

yep, that's what I did. Thanks.

I have one complaint about your bumpers - I DON'T OWN ONE! Seriously dude, you the MAN! I agree with the concensus that your design is a better fit for our trucks than alot of the commercial ones now available (b'lieve me, I looked). Your boss should know that you already have a new job if you want it (seriously). When you do - I'd like to order my rear utility bumper with light pockets and 2 storage compartments for tow straps and winch accessories - 98 Ram 2500 HD…:D Nice work!!

Mark,

Here's your chance to get that new MIG welder you've been thinking of. Put together a few of these bumpers for members and you'll have it paid for.

As DieselDoghouse said, "Seriously!" You can do this if you want to.

Excellent work.

When you make mine, I'd like the tow rings in the front like you put in the rear, and a 2" hitch receiver in the front also.

Figure out how much you'd have to charge to make these for your turbodiesel buddies.

Thanks for all the great compliments!! I wish I could go into business for myself. I am definitately in the mood for something a little different and I'v always loved fabricating!

Unfortuantely, thanks to the United States Navy, I'm really not in a position to start taking orders for bumpers. Maybe in about 4 years when I retire:-laf Until then I think my brother and I going are to bust out at least a back bumper for his Duramax before I have to deploy next summer.

Just remember Mark—all the will in the world won't carry you through if you don't have the talent, which you obviously do. Seeing that you're USN, now I understand. I'm the product of a CPO WW2 & Korea (radarman) and lived the precision, fit & finish (do it once, do it right—thanks Dad). Your bumpers are definitely up to MILSPEC!! BTW thanks for your service to our Country!

Very Nice Work. Some of the best looking bumpers I have seen! You should be very proud of the craftsmanship that you have done there!!

I can't seem to view your bumpers or any pics here at all really. I would like to see your .skp if I may. -- email address removed --

It won't let me view your bumpers either. Kind of a bummer too, I've been building one in my garage for about three weekends now. I'd like to see yours.

I just reposted the original pictures. Check the first page again. I don't remember what other pictures in this thread so I can't go back and update them all, but this should give you an idea of what they look like.

Here's one pic of it. I'm still working on it. Since this pic, I've cut five vent holes and welded expanded metal into them. I still have to cut out the holes for the factory fog lights and fab some brackets. Then, off to LineX.

Tramplineman, your bumper looks sharp!

I did not bend the pipe... I only recently got a tubing bender. Those are weldable 45's.

I know it's been over a year, but I just saw your PM and forwarded you the files. Sorry! Life has gotten a little out of hand over the last couple of years as we built a house, moved and retired... Long story short I just haven't check-in here in a really LONG time:eek:
