My best Army assignment

I have just been assigned as Company Commander for a Personnel Detachment in Weslaco Texas. For those that dont know where this is, Weslaco is less than an hours drive from South Padre Island. From now on, I get to hit South Padre Island every month, and get paid to be down there Those weekend drills that occur around spring break are going to be real tough... .



The best TDY trips that I got so far, were two trips to St. Croix in the Virgin Islands. They needed people with computer networking knowledge, so I was asked to go. Unfortunately, Hurricane Georges ruined my perfect weekend in St Thomas on the second trip...

On the way down to Cuba, then Haiti to regain power for the local govt that had been overthrown, we made a stop off in the Bahamas during spring break... ... . wooohooooo! For every one nice place they sent you, there were about 10 you had to go to that were arm pits of humanity. Ahh, the good old days.
