Nice looking truck!

So - if you had a chance to do it again, what would you do differently?

Look forward to hearing more when you've time to type! ;)

Here is a link to some of the pics of what it took to do my swap into the '93 4x4 chev.

There is so much about the swap I don't want to type that much right now. So if you have any questions I will answer them.

I know some of you guys have been looking for more pics. So if you don't see a angle or something I will take more pics and get them up.

I don't think there is much I would do different. Maybe just a bit cleaner on cuting stuff to make fit.

I think if you want to know any thing just ask here. The pics should speak for them self.

The check eng light was on when I was done so I just pulled the computer and it went away :)

english, nice set up! i will soon be doing a similar swap, but it will be on a 96 model gm with a high mileage 6. 5. my guestion is,what did you do for a air cleaner box. did u use the 6. 5 setup,or one off a dodge?what about the alternator,if you used the one from the 6. 5,what did you do to fab a bracket to make it work, and what about the belt pulley, how did u acomidate the wider belt the cummins uses. got the same question about the a/c set up! sorry to bomb you with guestions, but i havent a clue. . thanks. .

You can see in my pics I cut up the stock Dodge air tube and put a K&N on it.

We cust made the alt bracket for the chev alt. We had to grind on the alt a bit also. We took the dodge pully and put it on the Chev alt. The tach seems to work very well. The stock belt was just bit to big so we got one the was 1in smaller.

The GM alt is the only way to go you get your tach and you don't have to deal with the gay Dodge ECU with the regulator in it.

thanks english, and cograts on the conversion, look forward to more pics. . btw what happend to the 6. 5,that made u want to convert?

So many resons. My dad bought the truck new in '93 with in 30k lost the HG. I bought the truck with 90k and had to do the HG again. Than I had a few of the plastic clips that hold the rockers in place break. When you go to the 6. 5 pages all you read of is problems never any real mods. Cracking blocks seems quite common.

So no real power to be made. If thay blow you cant find good used and can cost as much a 4k for a good used one.

I spent over 1k in cooling mods just so I could pull anything with out over heating. Even with that it still would get worm some times with a good load (over 20k)

Tired of all my buddys in the Dodges geting up beside me in the passing lane and smoking me out becaue I am toped out a 25mph. Now with the same load I and crusing 50mph with out raping the motor.

I sold the 6. 5 for $1800 which and I all ready bought the swap 1 year ago so that paid for us to put the motor in and I even had the mech 6. 5 which is way better than the 94+ elec injection.

When I get things right and the mods done. I will have a few morm 6. 5TD stickers on the truck and when Chiped D-Maxes, Powerjokes, and other CTD think that are geting punked off buy a 6. 5 it will be way fun. Anyone who really know Diesel's will know it's not a 6. 5 buy sound but I should still fool quite a few people.

Just a freindly FYI. You can use the Dodge alternator with out the Dodge PCM. You can hook up a mopar external regulator (two wire) and it will work just great. You can also get a alternator shop to add a tach wire to one of the windings to get the Chev tach to work properly.

Thanks.

I had read that in the past. It was just as easy for us to fab it in. I may do that in the future though because having to mod each new alts is not the best way to do it.
