My Dealers service dept is open 24/7!!!!

Well, My dealer's service dept employees carry cell phones. . they all have direct lines... No need to call the main # and ask for service, etc... Well, I called my mechanic/Sercive advisors number to leave a message for in the morning, and HE ANSWERED! I thought surely they only used those cell phones on the job, but NOPE... he informed me that his customers were free to call day or night with any questions or concerns they may have. . I happened to call at 9:30 PM local time. . I appologized and told him I assumed I would be leaving a message... he was very nice and thanked me once again for calling... . Weird. . very weird!!!
