Yes, Found On Road Dead! Okay, I didn't actually find it, I was in it when it died, going 70mph on the highway. Shifted into neutral and after long crank it restarted, only to die out 5 seconds later. Pulled over, long crank, die after five seconds. Repeat a few times, then no start at all. Check engine light on.

I have a broken hand and a plow on front of the truck so I wasn't able to do much tinkering on the side of the road. Waited an hour and a half for a tow truck. Just before tow truck arraived I tried to restart and it fired up. Check engine light off. Tow truck followed me for two miles and truck died again. Long crank, restart, die. Repeat. Check engine light on. Towed the rest of the way in.

No early warning signs that I noticed. What is wrong with my truck? 3/4 tank fuel. New fuel filter. 28 degrees outside. 54,000 miles. Rarely run Edge Juice higher than level 2. I think all other info is in my sig. Thanks 4 the help!

OK well noone else has chimed in to say otherwise so I will go with that. I guess the only thing to decide is do I go with replacing the pump that draws the fuel from the tank, or do the in tank conversion. Anyone have thoughts?

Thanks slow six for your help!

oh, and the dealer will replace with the intank pump. If you are doing it on your own, go with a FASS or similar system. I am writing up a trick way to use their draw straw that avoids many of the common low fuel issues, but I am days away on that. You can PM me if you want to go that way and I will help as best I can.

Exactly the same symptoms when my lift pump died on Christmas day... . could have had the dealer install the in-tank (still 4K short of 100K)but I want the pump where I can get to it. I went with the Glacier 392.

Might try adding a few gallons of fuel - just in case fuel gauge is screwed up. Likely the lift pump though.

Thanks to all the posters for quick and correct responses. I ended up having the dealer fix the problem as the truck is under warranty. Their term for the problem was "low transfer pump pressure". I got a new pump and had the flash update to get the cruise control high idle feature as well. Total cost: $0. Thanks Courtesy Dodge in Grand Rapids MI!

JDiepstra,

Hang onto that dealer; you've got a good one. There are lots of dealers who would have denied your warranty claim because of the accessories.

Glad to hear you're back on the road.
