I will soon be starting my Cummins Swap in my 89 F350 (see sig) I was able to purchase this truck as my Doner:
Motor Pics:... 1986 Ford F350 Cummins 12V pictures from friends & fun photos on webshots
Truck Pics:... 1986 f350 parts truck pictures from friends & fun photos on webshots
It is a 1986 Ford F350 Crew Cab 2wd non Dually from California. It has 20K on a complete Cummins Reman conversion. the Conversion was done in 2000.
About 10K miles ago a tree fell on the truck and it now has a salvage title. I bought the truck off E-Bay out of Winsconsin.
The nice thing about it is that I should have everything that I need for the swap since it is already in a Ford, Same motor mounts, C6 trans, all of the brackets, cables, hookups for alt, ac, power steering, etc. Everyghing works on the truck Cruise, Ac Tac etc. It looks like the conversion was done correctly.
The only thing different is that I will be installing an intercooler when it gets installed, so I will need to do some plumming.
I plan on starting removing both motors starting the beginning of December and having the truck back on the road in the spring. I just plan on taking my time and doing it right.
I have been driving the 86 and have already installed a bigger turbo, injectors, fuel pin, and all of the pump adjustments. It runs GOOD!. I will also be installing the 3200 gov spring before it goes in Big Ed.
I am shure that I will have a bunch of questions once I get started and also plan on documenting and lots of pics as well.
Later!
