Well I am back from the wonderful state of Mass. I got good news and bad! First the bad... I could not get my power upgrades! Now the good... . I had to get a full DTT transmission instead of just a vb and tc. There where several trashed parts in my old trans and to take a chance on just replacing the parts and hoping for the best was not worth it! Scott did a complete DTT for me and thats why I could not get the power upgrades at this time. :{

But I will say this much. . Ooohhh my god the difference this trans makes! I want to thank Scott Hovey and Matt (Holeshot Holset) of Mass diesel performance for all the help and a very excellent job done!

I am posting some pics that I took while there.

The first is of Holeshot Holset's exhaust stack. :D

(He did a very good job on it too. )

The others are of the trashed parts and the trans coming apart.

Oh yea I need to give a shout out to my brother for helping me pay for it THANKS BRO!!:D :eek:

Congratulations. Scott will not steer you wrong if there are any internal problems and it looks like he addressed quite a few.

When I had him do my transmission, the drum you took a pic of (fifth pic down). was also scored in my transmission. Everything else was OK. He could of just put it back in but he is honest and asked me what I wanted to do. I replaced it.

Even though you didn't get the power mods it must have been a fun drive home :)

BTW, How many miles were on your stock transmission???

Mileage was

I had about 54,000 miles on it. There was 3 factory vb's and 2 tc's put in it sense new and I had enough dealings with the dealer! :mad: The last time I had it worked on by the dealer was the straw that broke the camels back!! Yes it was fun to drive it home... heck some times I would pull off on the exits just to feel it shift:D

Glad to hear that everything is happy with the new transmission..... give us a call when you want to make more soot! :D

Many thanks for the stack pic!

Matt

It's always nice to hear about happy beginnings! But I just have to know. Did you like to stand on the brake and push down on the pedal as the truck internally hemorrhaged for those extra fast starts, or maybe like to drop the transmission down into second for those fearsome mountain grades? Man, that band was burnt up. Either way, good job. Now that you can get the power to the ground, just add more power, you'll be glade you did. I know it's only a matter of money, boy do I know

Congratulations on your new transmission, and you couldn't have gotten it done at a better place. Scott is a great guy to deal with. Perhaps he showed you some remnants of mine from when I was up there?
