Hooked up the trailer last weekend and noticed that the truck was sitting on the overloads, well almost... On the drivers side it was sitting on the emergency brake cable. The dumb thing is sized just perfectly to sit between the overload spring and bumpstop.

I shoved it out of the way and noticed that it had some apparent damage from previous trips. I have not had a chance to climb under the truck yet to check things out but:

Anybody else notice the same issue?

And,

Is it simple to take up the slack somewhere? Doesn't seem like I should have to use a bunch of zip ties under my new truck (although I will before I let the cable get squished)

Oh yeah, I'm assuming it's the emergency brake cable, haven't checked that either yet. It's the one that goes through that funny lookin' hanger in the drivers side rear wheel well.

I bent the hanger inside the left wheel well to hold the cable away from the spring. Pretty stupid design, but at least it's not a critical system, like brakes or something.

Yea, like brakes or something.....

Glad to hear my truck isn't the only one. Pretty good problem to have I guess since it can be fixed with a zip tie or bending that goofy hanger.

My only other major complaints are that the wife won't let me drive it without a fight and the cat hair won't come off the seats without some effort. I suppose I could just get rid of both of 'em and solve the problem but I kinda like the cat. :D

Could be worse:
