Well upon noticing that I had a water leak when it rained I could not do anything about it for about a year (I wasn't around to fix it) I finally got the leak fixed. Rather two leaks fixed one was the windshild gasket and the other was the cheesy seal around the drivers kick panel where the air vent is. I urethaned around the windshield and used silicone to repair the seal on the air vent. Now when I pulled the carpet up in my 10 year old truck I find that the floor is rusted through in a few spots!  Man if there is anything in the world that I hate then it would for sure be rust in my CTD. I think that I will just take my knockout set and knockout the hole to a standard size and then replace it with a rubber plug. But there is one area that is going to be ugly that I am going to have to use a little fiberglass bondo and smooth over. Then some paint and a layer of undercoating if for no other reason sound deadening. What a pain! :{ Hopefully with the leaks fixed it will be another 30 years before the rust becomes a problem but hopefully for someone else. Check those floorboards!

Floor pan patches are available from many sources for these old trucks. Used one on one of my old RamChargers. Very common rust area because of the common leaks - which you have already found!
