Long story short, my truck was parked beside their driveway and he left in a ****** off mood. He wasn't paying attention and backed into my truck while trying to turn around.

Damage:

Bumper a little more dented (I can live with it)

cracked mount for driver side fog light (must fix this, my truck's missing an eyeball!)

Airbag light won't go off

I don't get the airbag one. Truck was off and keys were not in the ignition, why would the airbag light start coming on? Is there a sensor somewhere I can check? Or is there another problem somewhere else that I don't know about? Cruise control still works so I don't think it's the clockspring.

TIA for the help

G/F is going to do the smae thing someday so be prepared.

A quick scan with a snap scanner should tell you what airbag sensor got tripped.

The 'bag sensors are not resetable, and must be replaced. Check ebay for foglights. I picked up alot of just for the front end of my truck there and came out pretty cheap.

Be glad he didn't run you over instead, almost had that happen to me by a former member from this wonderful place!!

I know.

I'm trying to get this truck lookin' pretty to sell it, and I just can't win.

I drive it for 4 years, and hardly any damage, and in the last 6 months, I have had $1k of new parts replaced (bumper, foglights, headlights, blinker, grille, etc), and $600 of the same parts damaged by shops that are working on my truck. Argghh.

Anyway. It'll be looking sharp again soon. It's just money right? :{

Dang. . I miss all the fun replies!! I never saw your first reply.

Yeah, after he hit it, he rolled down his window and yelled "Get an estimate and send me a ******* bill!". I'm just trying to smooth things over right now, not sure if it's worth making him pay for it. The bumper is pushed in on the drivers side, so I'll have to pull it back out a little to fix the fog light. I need to just get a buckstop or one of sledpullers bumpers. I really don't want to replace the factory one with another piece of tinfoil. It was already all banged up from off roading. Plus the plastic was falling off, I had to zip screw it back together.

I have the air bag fuses pulled right now, because I got tired of hearing the warning lamps go off every 2 minutes. I just haven't had a chance to get it in to the dealer to have them figure out which sensor was tripped.

You don't have to go to the dealer. AutoBody shops do that type of diagnostics all the time. (Airbag)

Bending your bumper back is going to be a bigger job than you think. The brackets give a fight when in perfect shape. I can just imagine how they behave when pretzeled.

Something to do with "you", "will", "get", "hit" and "her too".
