My truck has been feeling choked down for a few weeks, so I yelled at my cat and it ran away. My empty temps dropped dramatically. In 6th from 50 - 85mph I would see 1350* and it would hold there until speed limiter, this with the cat on. With it off, I never saw over 1150* I'm leaving in 10 minutes for Gillette, WY, so I'll report more findings and the difference in towing/mountains. Last time I ran to the mountains I could sail over 1500* at will.
Also, sounds very similar to my 5" outside, just doesn't carry over inside. There was a pea size spot that you could see through, the rest was clogged up solid and soot would dump out if you hit it against the ground. Boost comes on quicker and it feels like a legitimate 30hp gain.
