What do you guys think? Im trying to get her all tricked out for show and shine at Bandimere speedway in July. I am thinking an S&B intake is next with a custome lid. If you look i did all of my fluid caps in billet aluminum. What else do you think we need to make the power stroke and duramax guys cry?:-laf

Nice as usual, how about making an actual valve cover out of billet, this way you have an option(cover or actual valve cover) I would purchase one in a heartbeat.

I would like to make the real deal. The down fall is the material cost. I am guessing the material to cost about 650. 00 or so before i even cut a chip. To do a one off valve cover may run as high as 1500. 00 hundred by the time i do fixtures and the programming. That just seems to be way to costly. I know i would not pay that much. The ones im doing now i played with for 2 weeks on doing the geometry and figuring how it was all going to go togther. I did that just so i could make it out of 2 peices of material to keep the cost down and still have it look good. Even now i wish i could have made it more reasonable for everyone. Aluminum seems to be like gold when you get into large bar stock. I like your setup that really looks sharp too. Did you do all the buffing yourself?

I have an 05 and i have seen some pictures of the 03 and i always see what appears to be a cover. What is it? if it is something you can remove it might be a good billet part to do.

I thought i would just show this picture to give some ideas for you guy. This is my dash i did to mount the double din mobil media player i put in a while back. Stock the trucks have a din and a half stereo system. This is a double din. So i cut out the dash to fit it in and because of the slop cuts of the dash i had to fiberglass the top to get it all smooth and make it look like a factory fit. . I painted it to look like granite just to give it a tough look

If i did one what can i do to make the blow by connection a breeze so there is not alot of hair pulling to install it? Having a good cover to get geometry from and not having to figure everything out would save tons of time and money. About how thick is that cover?

Its the cable operated throttle doohiky, and yes the black cover comes off. The rest of it is ceramic powdercoat and chrome for the cover with a few billet pieces here and there.

I would think to mount the OEM breather on this cover you would need to bore a hole on the top and add a tube to remote mount the breather.

Putting the breather in the same spot as the OEM cover defeats the nice look by covering the VC letter's. I think its about . 100" thick.

Having a good cover to get geometry from and not having to figure everything out would save tons of time and money. About how thick is that cover?

I can send you the cover if that helps. You would just need a 3rd gen breather to put it all together. Pop off your plastic cover and its just two screws that hold your OEM breather on.

I dont think i want to put the breather on top like the stock one. Did you just have fire wall issue with venting it out the back? Did you use a PCV valve so it will not suck any air in? How is it working out do you have any dripping oil issues. You are the go to guy on this one since you have all the experiance with it. I am woundering if i did the valve cover if i move the filter assy back on the cover so it is up under the fire wall and leave the front clean if that would work ok what do you think?

This cover is 2. 5" tall and fits the 03-05's, I know it won't fit 06's.
