Back in February I spent about $1400 on parts of the truck.
I got:
4" diamond eye exhaust
BD 16SQCM turbine housing
BD fuel pin & 3200 RPM exhaust spring
5 gauges - Autometer Elite EGT, Fuel Pressure, Trans temp, Autometer Z-Series Boost and tach.
I also bought some new wheels for it last month

Finally got around to installing the exhaust, turbine housing and EGT probe this weekend.
Thanks to the interwebs, I was able to find out how to remove the old housing... just held it up off the bench by the compressor housing and hit it 6 times with a 2lb hammer. Popped right off

Was also able to find out where to install the EGT probe. On Sunday I had 2 heavy duty diesel mechanics trying to tell me that the EGT's are the same before and after the turbo but I think they are on crack... .
So I get my 5 gauges and now have to face the next problem... . of course there is NOWHERE to get a 5 gauge a-piller or dash consol for a first gen... so let the design begin:

Laser cut and bent stainless steel:

Tig welded:

(Some lubrication was required)
First run so welding wasn't the best. A little grinding/sanding was required:

Primed and painted Matte black:

I think it turned out pretty god damn good. Only thing I will probably do in the future is upgrade the boost gauge to the Elite series to help ballance out the looks a little more. For the price I just figured I really don't need the elite series features in the boost gauge.
From here I have to wire everything up. The EGT gauge has a High/Low relay output so the low output will be used as a turbo timer. The switch on the consol will be to override the timer. Up will allow me to turn off the ignition and remove the key so I can lock the door when the truck is warming up on cold mornings and down will be to kill the engine when the timer wants to keep it running. The LED will flash when the switch is on for warm up (Don't want to leave the truck thinking the turbo timer is doing its thing when, in fact, the switch is on!).
Anyway, I'm pretty happy so far. Next will be a Bush Bumper that I design and build (Will probably be a clone of a Buckstop bumper). I can design and build it for WAY less than $1500. Then will be a paint job and Linex for the box
Oh, if anyone is interested in a Gauge consol, I figure I can build them for $150CDN + Shipping if we can get a run of 10 together. I would do rough grinding on the welds ( if needed depending on the quality of the welds) but fine finishing and painting/polishing would have to be done by the end user.
