My mono amp is cutting off. HELP!

I installed a new radio, door speakers, amps and a sub. One amp is four channel and runs my doors. The other is two channel and runs my sub. They are grounded seperately and the juice to them is fed by a five gauge from the battery to a distribution block and two 7 gauge wires to the amps. OK my problem is that whenever i put my radio on standby, not off the mono amp goes into protect and i have to shut my radio off for ten minutes to get it to come back on. This only happens to the sub amp. Why?

Is it getting hot? does the amp shut off when used hard? does your sub amp take 10min to come back on? or the whole system?

no. my 4 channel gets hotter. no it does not shut off when used hard. Before i put my radio on standby i am usually running it hard. But i touched it after it went into protect and it was barely warm. It is a Memphis 1300watt and is only running one jbl 10". only my sub amp.

Figured it out. My juice wire is too small. Replaced the distribution block with new 4 gauge feed. Works great.
