My MPGs are good

Hauled a tractor 175 miles to Phoenix today. Towed 7,000 pounds on the way up and 3,000 pounds on the way back home. Kept the freeway speed at 72 mph on the cruise control with quite of bit of stop and go driving around Phoenix to get where I made the delivery.



Averaged 15. 5 mpg for the entire trip (350 miles)... ... . not bad for a big dually 4WD quad cab with a 6-speed!



I'm sorry some of you guys are having fuel consumption problems, but I'm real happy with mine (it's an 05 model). I've read so much bad news on fuel mileage with the 05 models that I thought I'd post some good news .

I'm happy too, getting 17 around town and 20-21 on the road empty. Averaged 17. 5 pulling 4k on a 1500 mile round trip down to the Keys. There are some on this site that are getting poor mileage and will question your ability to calculate mileage or outright call you a liar. Just get ready to ignore them and enjoy your good mileage!! :-laf

I just returned from a 3000 mile trip from Minnesota, Florida and Texas. Drove most of it at 70mph (1950 rpm) and averaged 13. 1 mpg hauling a Lance slide in camper. I can't believe the power this truck has, it's great. I love everything about it except the black oil but I guess from what I've read here that's normal on the 05 and nothing to worry about.
