Towed our 14k 5'er about 100 miles over the weekend with no problems at all. Couldn't tell it was back there!

Got up the next morning, started the engine and it rattled like a 1st gen 12 valve! Pulled out on the highway (empty), it rattled and stumbled like crazy. It finally leveled out and now drives o. k. , but the engine is VERY noisy still. I noticed when pulling the trailer home that every so often, pulling on a dead flat road, the engine temp guage will go to about 3/4 or so, and the mileage will drop about 2mpg.

I'd give a gold plated rooster for my '06 4wd qc sb back!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe that Cumminz, in one of his more recent posts in one of the flash/regen discussion threads, has listed some of the problems supposedly addressed by TSB 18-033-07 REV. A,... they may incude your symptoms.

You will undoubtedly want to see that your rig gets the flash if it does not have it,... provided it IS one of the models for which it is intended (2500/3500, 6. 7 built on/before June11, such as mine. )

I suggest reading the (unfortunately many) threads/posts on the issue.

Too late! With 1300 miles on it, I took it to my dealer this a. m. The Svc. Mgr. (a trusted friend, if you can believe it) says they're coming back in droves. With the regen issues, as well as the terrible MPG. I had them find me a new '07 Laramie 3500 DRW with 5. 9 and 48RE.

They're installing a Jake, transferring my hitch, and I'm picking it up Friday. Believe it or not, I'm not taking a bath, (just a small shower!!!)

How SWEET It IS !!!!!!!!!!!

Picked up the new '07 3500 drw with 5. 9 and 48re today ("how sweet it is!!!!!"), drove it home at about 60 or so thru pretty hilly country, and got 20. 2mpg with 300 miles on the clock. The best part is... ..... NO REGEN to have to worry about!
