Lower my EGT - how?

Finally got to head over to the Dyno Tuesday night and see what the new truck is putting out. The dyno is a Mustang portable unit. We did the runs in the load setting in 5th gear. Started at 1200 RPM and went to the rev limiter. Truck has 16,000 miles on it.

Mods for the stock pull was only an AFE intake. I removed the intake for one of the other pulls and gained nothing so it's not restrictive. I didn't take my stock intake so I don't have any of those numbers. :(

Stock:

316. 303HP / 565. 352 ft-lbs

Bullydog Torque box on high & manual boost controller (more on that later), AFE intake:

397. 070HP / 801. 926 ft-lbs.

I'm now the proud Torque record holder for that shops dyno!!! I beat their 8 second drag car by about 40 ft-lbs. As soon as I get the HP and TQ graphs I will post them.

I would like to thank Douglas Conrad over at Advanced Diesel Technology for sending me the box and intake. He knows his stuff and was a pleasure to talk and deal with.

Huh have you wondered how acurate their dyno is when you have a 305 hp (thats crank power) motor that is registering 316 to the rear tires? Just about all the stock numbers I have seen are showing the 275 hp area to the back tires.

Yes it was the adjustable and it was on high. I don't ever see a reason to use the middle setting. I get the same EGT numbers on middle as on high so why make the same temps and less HP. I did do runs on all 3 settings. I just don't have the data back from the shop yet. Been swamped at work and had to leave in a hurry.

The Box was on the lowest setting but still connected. I assume the lowest setting was off. But maybe I am wrong. My high numbers are in line with what other people have been getting though.

Or maybe the AFE intake is a beast! LOL ;)

Ah that make sence then. I believe it is just like my Edge box and the low setting is NOT of, it is a 40hp setting. Which would be about right in line with the 316 hp number you got.

i hope you got a SBC in your future. but your stacking idea will make your truck scary fast. you will not be able to row that 6spd fast enough. by the time you let out the clutch wait for the syncros to let you in gear it will be time to do it all over again meanwhile leaving whatever you where racing in the dust. i assume if ever draging in your DRW you start in 3rd. ?

Well the 6 speed in no drag racer that is for sure, and not what I use it for, it for dragin the trailer around. I can go get the T/A with a 6 speed or one of the old muscle cars out for that :p

It will need a clutch yes, with the EZ on level 4 alone I can slip the clutch pulling a heavy load. But a little common sence and you can deal with it. I figure with the Comp I can back the EZ down to level 2 or something to turn the rail pressure down so it is easier on the pump and then use the COMP to get the power back up their with timing and duration. Or atleast it sounds like a good excuse right

sorry to thread hijack here, but anyone have details on the new comp? when's it due out? how much? I heard something about some guages built in?

13. 38 nice... ... 13. 7 for a third gen also nice.

what is going to happen with the 3rd gens when the 200hp box is out along w/ 200hp injectors? are we going to have the fuel?

but with this combo i imagine the 3rd gens will be capable of low 12's high 11's:--)
