Thanks, TDR Staff

Turbo over powered?

You made me do it, Ain't gonna' get stroked!

I just thought you guys might like to see my new ride!!! It's a 1999 Freightliner Classic. The color is something that'll have to be gotten used to but I like it and that's what counts right. Besides I'm just big enough to take a little ribbing about my Purple truck.

I'm almost sorry to say that it doesn't have a Cummins in it though. ( now just hold it ) I had to use my head on this one. It has a 500 horse Detroit in it with a 13 speed transmission and 3:58 gears, it will get better fuel mileage than a similar truck with a Cummins.

Oh yeah and the best part is I still have the big "Black Dog" too.

This is my first try at inserting a picture so if it doesn't work will somebody help me out with it??

We be STYLIN now brother!!!!!!!!!!

Great lookin' truck!! Envy is the first thing that comes to mind. #ad

Like CJ, I love to look at 'em. #ad

Thanks for the flowers guys... ( the compliments on the truck ) As for the cost of these things the price has came down big time in the past 1-2 years but the 99's are still 50k+++ for a decent one. I pull a 53' dry van hauling automotive freight in MI,IN,OH,ILL,WI,WVa,KY,TN, and any other state they tell me to go to. I haven't signed the new truck on with anybody yet but I'm thinking about B&W Cartage out of Taylor MI. They have a big B&W on the side of there trailers. It shouldn't be to hard to spot a big a$$ purple truck pulling a B&W wagon down the road!! LOL

Later... ... John

I almost forgot to ask, anybody got any ideas on colors for some graphics? I'm thinking maybe a grey, yellow, red combo for the company name and some bad a$$ lightning bolts down the side of the sleeper. Whatta ya think??

Oh ya anybody want to donate to my "keep the truck washed and looking good" fund? That's alot of shiny stuff to keep clean!!LOL
It's $35 a pop to get one of these things washed and they don't towel dry them when their done. LOL

Can anybody say "It's time to build a KILLER stereo system"LOL

Much to my partner's dismay, I had our race car painted 1970 Chrysler 'Panther Pink'... so it would be easily distinguishable from the other 300+ cars at the track on a race weekend... with the addition of fly-yellow stripes with a thin gold boarder, it is the subject of more photographers than almost any other car! So, for the sexy purple Freighter, I vote a bright yellow graphic with a thin boarder of some other color... LOVE the chrome! Your're gonna love the Series 60, too... the power comes on very even and flat... not peaky like a CAT... killer mileage too!

Congrats on the new truck, John.

I'll be watching out for ya.

I know a female truck driver who'd kill for a purple truck like that. #ad
Just had to say it...

When are we gonna have another campfire at your place, so we can all help you wash that thing?

Doc

You could always put on one of these...

Sorry Truckman, just kidding and couldn't resist. Funny you mentioned the upkeep on the rig. ,I was wondering about that and it looks like a major PIA. $50,000 is not as much as I thought, but I would sure be spending alot of time in that sleeper (ALONE !!!). Drop me an e-mail if you are ever coming through Vernon. I would love to see the rig up close and I'll hook you up with a "get out of jail free" card.

That is one nice looking ride and the color is great looking too. I know that my wife would like her new truck painted that color!

Man, John, that's a BAD ride ! I love it!
Hope you get to paint your name and "Owner Operator" on the door, not something like "Leased to" ... . Gimme a holler if you get a chance and you're coming through Lexington, I'll run out and meet ya, buy ya coffee.
I like the looks of few trucks as much as I do the Freightliners, that's the one I'd get if I could.

I love the color! It's like the purple color I had on my 'ol 99 Ram/Cummins,a real head turner.

You're right about the prices. I'm thumbing throught the latest Truckpaper.com magazine and the prices in there are very good.

Nice ride John! I hope the next fire/BBQ, that loudmouth hillbilly doesn't show up! #ad
What you have for Cinco de Mayo? Rick is talking about a grand opening for Dave's Diesel Angola? Once again, congratulations!

How 'bout this thing. It's in the current Truck Trend magazine. I think it's gorgeous. Best of all it has a good ole cast iron I6 in it, the Cat 7. 2.
