If anyone wants to see my new intake I have pics, just not good with posting. The SOP dyno says 30-50hp. Much better spool up, but of course it would with that restrictive intake.

I will send you pics tomorrow Bob, thanks. Left the shop and they are on that e-mail.

We aren't looking to do that at the moment as the built 48RE's are much stronger so in my opinion you would be talking a step backwards.

Thanks Stefan. Mostly wondering about covering the rpm gaps a bit and also figuring you'd build the 68 rfe as strong as the 48 rfe if your Pop was to develop the project.

I just think a lot of AUTO guys like myself would really go for upgrading our 5. 9's into built 68 rfe's.

Thanx for the response, Merry Christmas.

Been thinking the same thing, while a built 48RE would be nice it still has terrible gearing for towing (huge 3rd/OD gap), and way-too-tall 1st gear. At the HP level I run though the 68RFE would be just fine, if there was a way to make it work electronically on a 12-valve. I've inquired about doing this swap but the answer I get is just do the Allison. Well after doing the math I like the gearing of the 68RFE much better, I have no interest in the Allison at all.

I've posted on this subject a couple times but it doesn't seem to be catching on. . . maybe the transmission conversation could continue on in one of these threads so we can keep this one on 6. 7L stainless steel intakes:

Stephan, any idea how much of an electronics project it would be to build a controller that would make mating this trans to a 12V or 24V truck possible?
