Ultimate chainsaw?

SP3 for Pocket PC 2002

My wife was kind enough to let me get my Christmas present early this year so I can go hunting this week. I like it! Let's see if I can figure out how to put the images up here... hmm, nope, so I'll just post the web page if you are interested.

Remington Model 7 SS Magnum in . 300 SA Ultra Mag Caliber, and to go on top

Leupold VXII 3-9x40

I'm going to San Angelo with a buddy to see what I can shoot with it!

You can go up there where Whitmore is and he will take you hunting. :D But he want pay your way there. At least he want for me:{ :{ But you might be different:eek:

I wanted one that I could use elk hunting in case I ever go! Hopefully I will in the next couple of years. I know it is a little large for deer but it shouldn't be too bad. You can get 150 grain bullets for deer. Besides, I already had a . 308 and I wanted a little more juice. This one is the short action . 300, very similar ballistically to the . 300 Win magnum, the long action ultra mag is much more potent, and I would not shoot deer with that.

Good rifle. I have a Remington Sendero SS. in a 300 weatherby magnum I have never shot. I have another 300 that I use for big wild boar.

I shoot a 300WinMag and love it. If you shoot deer I would recommend a heavy bullet. I have shot many deer w/mine and Last season I hand loaded some 200gr Grand Slams and IMO they do far less damage than the 150gr bullets I used to use. I wish you luck on your little adventure and if you go Elk hunting once and bag an animal, be prepared to set aside the $$$$ to go every year after that. It is more addicting than a Cummins @ 500HP. If you catch my drift.

Take 'er easy and good luck

Mark

I use a 7mm Rem. Mag. and I hunt the Texas hill country around Llano and as long as I use 150 grain shells I do not tear up anything more than my 270. If I go up to 180 grain shells it does not leave to much meat. I have never had a deer or hog run more than 30 yards with the 7 mag. I like it because I can always go to a heavier shell for elk if I need to. I am using Remington Core-Lock bullets in both my rifles.

My 300 win mag is the best rifle I've ever shot and performs with a punch. I'm an old northern California . 270 guy. But the 300 gets elk attention.
