Beat these Christmas lights!

Need help with a decision...

:{ :{ Ordered all my gauges and pillar with everything I could think I might need for the install (hose's, tap, boost bolt etc . . )

According to UPS, they delivered to my front door last Thursday at 2:26pm. Only thing is that they didn't! :(

Two people were home all day on Thursday and nobody came here. Not likely that the parts got delivered and then stole off of our porch as our place is behind a fence, down a very quiet dead end road, barking dog, my elderly mother is in the room right next to the door and see's EVERYTHING that takes place in the neighborhood through here window, ect... ...

Went around the neighborhood and didn't find anything promising and the UPS guy would have to be blind to miss our house anyhow. There's 10" tall numbers attached to the house in plan view from the road and 6" black numbers on our white mailbox.

I don't doubt that they were shipped, I don't doubt that they were delivered but all I know is that they weren't delivered here.

The folks I bought the parts from have said that we'll have to put in a claim (I assume through their insurance or something) but this absoulutley isn't their fault. Clearly it's a UPS issue/screwup. They shipped out the parts on time and have been great to deal with. What should have been a happy ending is just a mess.

Anybody on here suffer through this before and can shed some wisdom on what options I might have?

Thanks for the help everybody... ... ... John

Good luck man! I would ask to see who signed for the package. If they say no one then I'd tell them to look around. I wouldn't let it die with UPS, I'd raise holy he!! ! Keep working your way up the ladder till someone starts listening. Sooner or later... . they will... . the nice thing is... . I'm sure the local newspaper wouldn't mind hearing the story if they won't cooperate.

Did the shipper give you a tracking number? What does the UPS site say when you track the number? Did the shipper check if your address was correct? Since the shipper paid for the shipping they file the claim with UPS, even if you are charged for shipping. They also get the money from UPS on the claim. Everything shipped with UPS has a minmun of $100. 00 insurance. The shipper would need to paid for a higher amount. If the company is a good company you should be OK, but delayed. :{

Thanks Guys. I've ordered for years using UPS as the shipper and never had a problem. This if a first for me and it sounds like I'll be okay but gonna have to be patient. Nuts!

I have the tracking number and we looked it up and it says they delivered to the front door at 2:26pm. Doesn't say the address other than the town.....

Thanks again for the advise

See if you can contact the UPS driver in your area and ask if he remembers dropping off your package. I know our driver sometimes will drop my package off at a neighbors if they are home and we are not. Also (you may have already done this) confirm your exact shipping address with the sender.

Good Luck.

The holiday season is upon them  and based on what I see for extra help at the terminal here... ... oh boy... they must be desperate!! Hold on, I'm sure they will make good on it though. :)

Thanks everyone. Talked to the shipper this morning (great guy and I'll do business with him again) and we've started the claim process. Sounds like it'll work out fine but I'm gonna still act like a little kid on Xmas eve until I finally get the parts. The excitement is gonna kill me.

Take care everybody and thanks again for the words of encouragement. John

I had similar happen to me. Signature was "On file". . Just happens, we specifically requested signature by Adult.

Everything worked out OK in the end. Just took a little extra work. The original package was never found.

I'll keep everyone posted. UPS is trying to track them down. Doubt they'll find them as I would have expected somebody that received them in error would have contacted them. Probably naive huh?

Yahoo!!!

YAHOO!!!!!

Oo.

I got a Thanksgiving present today. The neighbor brought over a box full of goodies that had been picked up by his kids when the UPS driver left it at his house instead of mine.

He hadn't seen it till today while he was cleaning for a Thanksgiving Day party and saw the package and the name and brought it right over unopened.

Opened it all up and what a nice kit. It's got everything.

Just wanted to keep everybody in the loop and let you in on a happy ending.

All UPS has done to date is have the driver come back and "discuss" how he left it on our porch. Not a bunch of help at all.

I didn't want to mention the name of the vendor I bought the parts from earlier in case someone thought I was bashing them. Couldn't be farther from the truth. David at DieselManor is who I have been dealing with and what a class act. I couldn't be more impressed and happier with them.

I will certainly buy again from them.

Happy Thanksgiving Day everybody... ... ..... There's gonna be some good times in the garage this weekend... ... ... John
