For the past couple of weeks I have been going out to the garage to go to work and finding my truck locked, when I know I did not lock it. Figured maybe one of my neighbors had a keyless remote with the same code (not likely).

These the other day I am driving down the road and the locks just locking and unlocking all by themself, repeatedly for about 5 minutes and then stop. Did the same think again today while driving and then again while truck off and sitting in the drive.

Think I ruled out the remote (took batteries out for a while and the locks still acted crazy during that time) and the door switches (unpluged the lock switches in the doors and it still did it. )

Does it whether truck is on or off, in motion or stopped (initially though someone was loose and the bumpy road was causing it).

Anyone else have this happen to them? or any idea's what it might be? a relay somewhere or a door lock controller or something?

This is on the truck in my sig.

Thanks

I know it is not on a dodge.

The same thing was happining with my Yukon. Had the remote lock system. I removed the remote system from the wiring and it was cured.

Theft deterrent system malfunction ? ? ? Doesn't sound like "Auto-lock" - that locks at 15 mph, that would just lock - not unlock?

Can't wait to see how this one pans out. Keep us posted.

Thanks guys, Hemi-Dart the stuff u posted sounds exactly like it. Plus we got about 3 inches of rain over the past several days and it is the typical 80-90% humidity July days recently.

Remote battery is new, that was what I initally thought was causing this.

Thanks and I will keep you all updated.

Went through the R/R procedure for the lock cylinder switch and seems very straight forward.

Since I use my keyless entry (can remember the last time I actually used the key to open the door) could I just unplug the cylinder switch from the harness and leave it? or would that leave the circuit open so that even the remote wouldnt work? Just looking to save a couple bucks on a 10 year old truck.

Thanks

J-

EDIT: Please tell me these are dealer only????LOL can't find them at any of my usual online placed (rock auto etc). Anyone know where to get these that is NOT the dealer?
