I just installed a standard Quad box. Thought I had everything right, turned on the ignition but didn't start the engine. I didn't get any lights on the box that are supposed to light at start up. Shut the ignition off and went over the plugs again and found the fuel rail plug was in backwards. Made the correction and tried again and all lights lit normal. Went for a drive and then noticed the check engine light was on. Will this clear itself or could I still have a plug not right?

Turn your ignition on,off,on,off,on and read the code where the trip odometer is. Look that number up or report it here and someone will decipher it for you.

Those codes are present from the plug being installed backwards. There is no harm done as long as everything is running right now. It will take a few keystarts and once it realizes that those are bogus codes they will reset themselves.

Yep, cleared up already. Thanks Qzilla. Great Box. Brought this truck back to life. Just took her for a good test beat. . I mean run. Very smooth power increase just like advertised. I for one though would vote for a bit more low end like my 2nd. gen had.

Also, Thanks to Kyle for a great deal!

Want more bottome end? Stack a VA duration box and leave it on 50%! You'll have some bottom end grunt then! My race box/VA made 399. 35 hp with the VA on low with 35" tires! On high I ran into a starvation problem. Need that FASS pump . . .

A concerned member has pointed out to me that the title of my thread may have been taken as a flame to Quadzilla. I had apsolutely no intention of doing so and appoligize if it was taken that way. The Quad box did not set the codes. . My being in a hurry and pluging the fuel rail plug in backwards set the codes. My mistake, not Quads. I hope that this thread has prevented someone else from making the same mistake.

I thought that you meant quad as in QUAD CAB truck.

Even then I didn't take it as a slam against the quad cab truck.

As soon as I get an EGT gauge in gose the Quad box for me!

that is interesting , was that with the race on 140 and the VA on 50%? I would be very interested to see the dyno power curve on that run if you have one and could post it?

Thanks...

Me too!! I gotta get on a dyno since I have the same stack and the FASS for fuel!!! My goal was 425 hp and it looks like I have a real shot of hitting it.

I ran 399 with 140 on high, the VA on 50%, with the 140 on high and the VA on high (100%) my curve was all jerky and crap. Finnally hooked up the fp gauge and I'm pretty sure I'm starving it. I only get 7 psi at idle and its not hard to pull it below 5. At the higher throttles I have to watch where I'm going and not the gauge. BTW, the 399 was a dually with 35's! Thats alot of tire. I'll post pics later. Sure is fun to drive!

Was your Quad box turned all the way up on that run?
