This is my story on the quest for a torque converter, this not to start another trany war. The options in this story are mine and mine alone. I have been looking for a converter for the past year in between trips sponsored by Uncle Sam. I have looked at the big 4 and did not like what I was hearing. So I looked into Goerend Bros trans shop, I like what I heard. After getting back from the trip Uncle sent me on, I e-mail Dave Goerend and set up a time to have the deed done. I arrived at Dave’s shop the afternoon before, just so I could be sure how to find it. Dave was there with a big smile and his hand out for the shaking. Hospitality is the SITREP for Iowa and Dave’s crew. I showed up the next mourning and the truck was already on the lift and the trans was half out. I started following Dave around the shop asking all kinds of questions. Dave was happy to answer all questions and also showed me how my question were done by the trany or converter. We cut open converters and looked at the guts of how and why it worked. He also showed me some proto-type parts but if I told you I would have to kill you
. He had a new seal put in the trany to replace the one dodge cut to deep. He even replaced a spring he did not like the looks of. The trany was back in the truck by 3:30 PM and we were off on the test drive, all went very well. I wont talk price that is between you and Dave but I think he has the best warranty in the business and I was happy with the price. Later that day I got another treat, I met Ray Torresdal of Rays banjo bolts fame. His shop is enough to make you drool. I also had the chance to learn a new game from Ray. Thanks for the lesson on how to shoot 5 stand it was a great time. Well I now have about 600 miles on my new trany and TQ and all is well with world today.
The options voiced hear are mine, I do not get any kick back from Ray or Dave
P. S. It is a triple disk converter
