Hate to hear you are haveing some bad luck with your Ram truck. Mine/ the 12v has 170k and hade one clutch kit installed. Love the truck, have as much fun driveing it as the 24v. Harv;)

How many miles were on it when you bought it, and how many miles on it now?

Have you fixed the dowel pin problem yet, or was this a previous problem?

I sure hope I don't have your luck with mine:(

Hey and one more thing, the pos doesnt heat either, any thing below forty you need full carharts to go to town. .

P. s. this is my 4th fourth dodge cummins truck I have owned a 1995 single cab dually 2wd 350000 miles, a 96 cab and a half 2wd 205000, a 97 cab and a half 4wd 180000, and this 1998 135000, ALL of these trucks have had at least FOUR of the problems I have listed, just this truck suffers them all. And the killer dowel pin killed this truck it is fixed, .

Send me all of the info on your truck and where you are located. I may be interested. Is it a quad cab, long bed, lifted, auto or standard, color? Provide as much info as possible.

Thanks,

Jeff

Just an observation, which you may have bought the truck with many of the mods listed in your profile.

If not, why would you spend $ on bombs when steering box, trac bar, leaking roof and other things cleary demand your immediate attention.

Making a truck go faster just increases your need to fix many of these items.

I do agree to some extent, Dodge has not done their homework

A-trac bars/steering

B-lift pumps on the 2nd gens

C-little cab heat

D-crappy ergonomics

E-4 door version still too D@mn small

F-huge window posts bad side viewing)

The alternative to these are F--- / C---- ... be my guest

As for me I will/have done the following

A-Install Darins Steering Stabilizer

B-remount/replumb ($150) or replace with diff unit (FASS ~$600?)

C-easily solved! (extra couple minutes of warm-up before pulling

away, remove fan, send EricBu an email for a winter front)

D-I think Ford wins hands down here

E-wait for the 05/06

F-slow down make sure you look before adding torque to the

equation

Good luck with whatever you decide, I know how constant maint can get your blood flowin. I traded the wifes Pathfinder cuz the CD player broke, Yeah I was looking for a reason. :)

I think I've got ya beat on problems. In 2 1/2 yrs. I've owned the truck I have:

1. Replaced the block

2. Replaced 3 trannys

3. 2 TPSs

4. Rebuilt front axle

5. new turbo

6. new cruise control cable

7. rebuilt injectors

8. replaced bad radio w/ CD player

9. drivers side power door lock

10. new front grille

1/2 of the cost for the block was covered by the dealership I bought it from, and the 3 transmission rebuilds also. Just replaced the 3rd rebuild in Nov. w/ HD Blumenthal. The truck was drove pretty hard before I bought it and probably shouldn't have bought it coming off a fresh transmission rebuild.

Get educated on Dodges problems, Hell all you got to do is read the discussion forums, that simply answers that question. Does anybody know why chevy and ford do not have a site this big to deal with the problems of there trucks? Wait a minute let me answer that BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE THIS MANY PROBLEMS!!!
