Aluminum radaitor on a cummins & Electric fans

I located a California '80 Chevy K20 w/ zero rust, D60/14 bolt, 454/TH400/NP205. I have a line on a 98 12v/NV4500, I already spoke to Autoworld about their mounts and they have an adapter that mates the Gm 205 to a 29 spline NV4500. They also said you have to notch the firewall if not using a body lift and to use the 98 radiator and IC, have to move the bungs on the IC. Any other suggestions? Don't the 98 Dodges come w/ hydroboost brakes? A ps/vacuum pump is a direct swap onto that front cover, right? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks-Nick

Niki,

You are talking to the right folks. They did the conversion on my '93 Suburban, pulling the 454/auto and replacing with an 04. 5/NV5600. It's been running great since I got it home last fall. We're leaving tomorrow for the mountains, pulling our 25' trailer. It's been nice getting 19+MPG in daily driver mode. It'll be interesting to see what things look like hauling over White Pass (WA).

You can also take a look here: Cummins-Conversion

Lots of home-grown efforts on that site too. It's amazing to see the various means to stuff a C into a favorite rig!

Good luck on your conversion - love to make the Ford boys jealous!

That will be a great truck if you build it. I am very happy with mine. If the truck does not have hydroboost brakes it will be easy to add them so you can use the Dodge pump. I used a 1" body lift to fit the Duramax intercooler and dimpled the lower firewall for the bellhousing bolts because I wanted the engine as far back as possible. You must cut the old front x member out and build a new one. I made my engine mounts but it would be much easier to buy a set from Autoworld. Below is a link to my conversion.
