Craftsman Garden Tractor Wheelie

p7100 DV leak low power

They are a great dealer, small enough to give a damn. The parts guy found a WIN module at another dealer today, will be here Tuesday.

I can't imagine why the thread got closed. I certainly did not bash the dealer, only the low grade parts used on the van from the Daimler days.

A lot of our CTD's have this very same system so I thought that I would keep everyone advised as I worked through it.

Mike.

I didn't see anything untoward in the thread.

Ask in the comments/questions/suggestions forum. When mods/admins close a thread, they're good about posting the reason. This could be an anomaly. Or an error. (And ask that this thread be moved there. )

The dealer locate system is a pretty cool system. The parts can be transferred dealer to dealer through the normal system or you can deal directly with the dealer that has your part. It has saved many customers some serious time over the years.

Do I hear crickets?

I juist tried to figure out who moderates this "Other Vehicle" forum, but when I select "View Forum Leaders" in the quick link tab the forums are blurred from some other text on top of them.

I still can't figure out why they closed it. I have read through in it's entirety several times and I just don't get it. I really wanted to take it to the conclusion as the dealership owners and myself are trying to get valid WIN module failure warnings so that a heads up can be given to others.

In the case of my van it was one no start, then it did start. The next morning it was toast.

I feel it is a valid subject given the amount of RAM's equipped with FOBIKS and WIN modules.

Yes, it appears that some dealers squirrel parts away and keep them from showing up on the system. I suppose it would be as simple as allocating them to a repair order.

I can locate parts as well for Freightliner, Western Star and Sterling. BUT even if a dealer has 4 of a part showing for example, there is no guarantee that they will sell one to me. They will say "Oh, those are allocated to Penske" or something of that nature. They can't be forced to sell me one.

I'm taking the high road for now and assume that it was an error OR the thread was not read all the way through and an excerpt was taken out of context.

Mike.

It is an optional program and dealers do not have to "give up" a part. Once a part is BOrdered it gets to be a crap shoot

I'm not sure why it was closed. Nothing in it to merit any moderation.

I re-opened it though. I'll take the bullet later lol

Cheers,

Dan C.
