My timing gear housing broke

Yesterday, as I was stopping at a traffic light, I heard a pop from under the hood.
I pulled through the intersection and pulled over. I left the engine running and raised the hood. There was a hole in the gear housing just above the fly wheel with oil running out. I ran to the cab and shut the engine off. I only lost about a cup of oil but I am sick. The truck is at the dealership. I saw another B5. 9 with the gear housing broken at exactly the same place at a Cummins Repair Center near here.

I have seen this on two other trucks.
There is a pin that falls out and gets wedged in between the timing gear and cover and blows a hole through it.
All have been covered under warrantee.
