Ok another question before I start tearing things apart... ... now my heat selector doesnt work when I switch it to floor what should I check first?Everthing else seems to work fine but the floor mode... ... any ideas?

air ducts

I'd bet you lost vacuum, either vacuum pump(expensive), or more likely a broken/rotted out rubber vacuum hose (cheap) do a search on here for vacuum pump, vacuum lines theres lots of info on that problem.

Are you getting any air through the dash vents? Or is it just from the defroster vents? You might have lost vacuum to the control for the baffle.

Pop your hood and look at the vacuum lines running along the firewall. Make sure all the connections are good and that none of the lines are damaged. A friend of mine had a vacuum line fall against the turbo and melted a hole it in, which caused the baffle in the vents to not shift.

rjones,

You were just working on your front axle down by some of the first vacuum lines to fail because they're exposed. Betcha' broke one.

nah no vacuum loss the only thing that doesnt work is when I put the floor heat on it stays at the defrost the ac vents and everything else works
