While driving along I65 about 35 miles south of Columbus, IN, my side cover gasket blew out and I lost most of the engine oil. Got it shut down pretty quickly so I don’t think there was any damage. I convinced the towing company to take me 35 miles north to TST products. There is a nice little campground just around the corner and they dropped my trailer there. I have a Power Max 3 on my truck and I had confidence whatever was wrong with my truck that TST could fix it. (I did not know at the time what the source of the oil leak was). That was Sunday afternoon. On Monday I called TST and asked them to come pick me up and the campground which the promptly did.

Scott took a long look at my truck and after a little while we determined it was the side (tappet) cover gasket. I told Scott that I could fix it myself and would they mind. He said “no problem”and towed my truck into their climate controlled shop. I was tired so I asked them if they could assist me if I needed it and to keep track of their time and I would pay the shop rate. Again Scott said, “no problem”. TST then took me back to the campground to get some shop clothes and we began the work.

Scott was extremely proficient and a huge help. Long story short, TST charged me WAY less than they could have. They brought me lunch from Subway and treated me like a king. I was hugely impressed with their operation, knowledge, and just all around friendliness. Its this kind of vendor that helps make our community great. :)

Thanks to Scott, Glen, Mark and all the nice people TST

TST is a great group of folks. Always been impressed with their customer service. On a side note did they have any thoughts on what's causing your side cover gasket to blow out? That's the same gasket that blew out last year right after the rebuild isn't it?

It's always good to hear that there are still people out there that will go out of their way to help someone without money being the motivating factor. Kudos to TST.

Yes it is Steve. Last year was probably a bad install job (mine)-- long story. This time I think I am pressurizing the crank case. I ran about 40 psi all the way down to Florida and back. About 3k miles. It might be related to my low compression problem. I just bought a compression tester. THat should help my diagnose the problem. I am also going to run a gauge from the valve cover, (have a spot from the oil bypass) and see what kind of pressure I see. Think I will use my new fuel pressure gauge from Genos.

See ya.
