Mystery chime?

I was heading to work this morning and enroute I heard a single chime from the truck. Just one. (same sound as low fuel warning) Everything was normal. No warnings lights on insturment panel, full tank, normal operating temp and oil pressure. Anyone else experience this?

Stock truck. I have 14. 6k on it, last changed the oil at 12k. All fluids levels fine. Air temp about 55 this morning, cruising at 75 mph at approx 2100 rpm. Odometer and overhead console displaying normal.

Yes, My 03 has done it several times. I cannot figure it out either. Everything seems normal.

I just had that happen today - decided I was hearing things - but now you've helped me believe that my wife is actually wrong - I can hear when I want to... .

Mine did it the other day and I looked down just in time to see a warning light going off. It's like it just flashed real quick. There have been several threads about this problem and it seems nobody knows what's going on. It supposedly gets better over time though.

About 45 seconds after my engine starts, the "Brake" and "ABS" lights will flash and a single "chime" will sound.



This doesn't happen EVERY time but frequently enough that I've gotten used to it.

re brake and abs lights...

i had the same problem. check for stored codes as mine ended up being a short in the wheel speed sensor on the passenger side. it was wet. opened it up, put grease in it, and wrapped it with tape. it was getting water from a/c system drippping on it. or it was the rain, or it was snow melt... u get the idea.

If you search on hear about Ck Gages light you will find it. There have been quite a few. Thats how mine started out. First just the chime. Next time just ck gages light. Mine has done it around 8 times in 15000+miles. Last I heard they were coming out with a reflash for this. Just talked to the service rep and he said they have not come out with it yet. They had already replaced some instrument clusters for this to no avail. Now I reember last time I took mine to them they were going to replace the instrument cluster but then DC advised them to wait till they came out with the new reflash. So I'm still waiting. Mine has not done it in about 2 months.
