What's with the big 3 telling us that we can,t get more hp due to limitations of our cooling,brakes,transmission,axles,chasis. Has any of them ever reverse engineered a late 60's or early 70,s muscle car. 400+ hp and torque with all that old technology? Me thinks me smells the EPA...

Cummins engines are certified by EPA. Application is not the critical issue. I think the Big 3 are more concerned about warranty costs from extra power going through pickup truck drivetrain components. Maybe a fear of lawsuits too.

I agree with Joe. Also the issue of something weaker in the system breaking down stream from the engine that they would have to replace under warranty.

Then a couple are involved in high speed crashes and insureance premiums go sky, and no one can afford to buy one.
