I bought this truck a few months ago. Been busy remodeling/moving so haven't really had time for anything beyond maintenance type stuff. Put it on a dyno about a month ago and put down 350hp. Felt pretty good about that.

Today I finally had some quality time with the truck. Opened up the pump to find a stock plate set in the middle. So my question is what injectors could put down 350 with a stock pump?

Lurch

Nice! That's good numbers for a stock plate in the middle. You mite have full cut delivery valves with some slightly larger injectors. Wonder what it would do without the plate?!?

how sure are you its a stock plate? what are your egts? can you peg the pyro easy? how much boost are you making at WOT? i dont think any injectors will give you that much without playing with the pump. my old 97 did 372 on just a plate and gsk. home ground 100 plate. stock clutch holding ok? my had 20k on it and slipped in 3rd bad at the power. is was a cheap luk.

It's stock. You'll have to take me at my word that I'm not mechanicaly challenged :). I have a pic of all the profiles. EGT's only go 1200 if I drive it like it's stolen, even towing 10K, 36lbs boost. Good puff of smoke at low boost, clears right up. Slight haze at WOT if it's real hot out. Clutch is holding but it's not stock. HD clutch from Fort Wayne Clutch Inc. . Haven't been able to get any info from them about it but seems to be holding current power just fine.
I couldn't believe it either when I pulled the stock plate out. The more I learn about this truck the less I understand. :)

Lurch,

If your getting 36 lbs of boost, something is not stock.

What did the previous owner say he/she did?

were the break off screws and wire ties still on the pump?

Does it have a stock turbo?

what model dyno did you run it on?

Does it look like the injectors have been removed (wrench marks)

I'm curious to see what the recipie is.

where in the Ozarks you at. I'm in the Ozarks, SW MO, NW AR.

Previous owner knew nothing. Original owner did all the work. All done 4+ years ago so that rules out the latest and greatest stuff.
Break off screw still there.
hx35 still there. Not sure how to ID housing size.
John's(Floor It) dyno
Injectors have been removed.

I'm curious as well. May have to pull an injector and run the numbers.

I'm in Long Lane, MO. Between Buffalo & Lebanon.

Some injectors claim a 90HP increase from a stock setup. Even that would not get you to 350. With my setup I'm only at 355hp at 777ft lbs. . 10hp less with no windshield fluid.

where do you start to defuel? 2600 rpm? max rpm at 2900?
maybe you have some gsk's although I wouldn't think they would make much hp.

Maybe the wrong info was entered into the dyno?
were you in OD or fourth?

I used to get up to Lebanon a lot when I worked for another company. Only time I get there anymore is when I'm driving by to go to St Louis.

my guess is:

you have some performance injectors. size?

boost elbow -or- plugged boost line

no gsk

possibilities:

advanced timing

mac plug (more rack travel)

I'd say timing is up, but that's just by ear. All I've read says the plug doesn't really help the 215 pumps, just smoke and heat.

Had a little time to tinker yesterday. Stock plate full forward. AFC housing forward, starwheel about 1/3 back gives me reasonable smoke and EGT's are good 1st-4th. Hold it in 5th and I can make 1500 but not till about 80mph. Don't know what that will do to my towing temps yet. Now I need more air so I can start grinding. :)

Hey Lurch, Glad to see ya! Are those the #'s from Belle? Those are pretty good numbers imo. Though, I don't have any 12V experience...
