Mystery Parking Lights

My parking lights won't go out. If I fool with the switch about a dozen times they will eventually go out. My question is - is it the headlight's on and off switch or is it the sensor? Thanks in advance.

P. S. Truck now has 243,000mi. Maybe the switch is just worn out???

there is something in the owners manual about a delayed parking/driving lights off after ignition shut off... my 03 1500 had it until the dealer disabled it for me. my 04 never had it enabled from the factory... flip through the owners manual and find that in there... that might be it eh. .

if you turn the key off before the lights, they should stay on for about 2 min. You can defeat it by turning the lights off first. the switch is just a rheostat that tells the forward body computer that you want lights. do a code check and see if you get any codes.
