Nalco/Exxon TD-4 plus fuel additive? How does it work?

Have you used Nalco/Exxon TD-4 plus? How were your results?

Did it quiet your injection pump? Increase your mileage? Prevent gelling?

Where might this fall on the LE DCI+, Stanadyne, Howes, Power Service continuum?

If it's any good I have access to 48 bottles (4 cases) for $3. 14 per bottle. I don't know what it would cost to ship... But if you want some it might be a good deal.

The label claims it treats 480 gallons per quart. Must be strong stuff.

I've searched the web and only found the following back from 1998 or so... . Maybe it's out of production?

[from a trade show's web archives]... . "Two important additives for diesel engines will be set forth by Nalco/Exxon Energy Chemicals L. P. First on the list is TD-4 Plus, a diesel additive that is said to offer year-round protection and performance for RV engines by providing improved mileage, reduced deposits, quick cold-starts, protection against fuel degradation, and protection for engine parts against corrosion. The second product, TD-4, is an additive designed to protect diesel engines in winter. It is said to prevent fuel from jelling down to 35 degrees below zero, improve cold-weather starting, prevent fuel-line freezing, and reduce fuel filter icing. "

My purpose in the post is really to find out about this product for myself, not to sell it. So I would really appreciate the benefit of your experience with it. Or even rumor... .

thanks,

Chris

Nalco is a chemical supplier for the refinery in which I work. Soooo, needless to say, I'll see if we've got this at the loading rack. Doope! Did I say that out loud? :D

Sorry I cannot comment on the Nalco, but I can comment on the others you mentioned.

Of Stansdyne, Howes MPC, and LE DCI+, my favorite is the LE DCI+. The truck seems to like it a little better too :) I didn't really perfer the Howes. The Stanadyne and LE seemed to quite the truck at idle and smooth out the idle a bit, I didn't notice this with the Howes. This is just my experience.

Let us know what you find out about Nalco.
