Name plate removal question

Advice on removing the name plates on my 2004 tailgate. Is there any easy method that leaves no trace? Thanks.

I've removed decals on all my vehicles, snowmobiles, atvs and dirtbikes. The easiest I've found is to use either a heat gun or a hair dryer to warm the adhesive. For hardened emblems, heat them up and use a piece of fishing line like a saw behind the emblem. For decals, heat them up and peel them off. There will most likely be adhesive left on the truck. I use 3M adhesive remover in an aerosol can. Spray the remover on the adhesive and wipe off. You may have to repeat this step a couple times. You can get the 3M from a glass or windshield shop. Goo-gone will also work.

I've had better results with the 3M stuff, it doesn't seem to soften the paint as easily as the dimestore stuff.
