How many here have installed NAPA ball joints? They used to have only one line, now they have their best joint and also a lower cost part. The best line has a lifetime warranty.

I installed napa on my 96 3500 ran another 100k then sold the truck had no problems with them but I am from the dumb school of more money is better and napa guarantee is good got four sets of free brakes for my 96 also

Mine is a 2001, and they do list ball joints for that truck. I also had someone in another part of the country tell me they could not get joints for that year from NAPA.

Any thoughts on that? My only reason for asking such a question is that I want to get the parts and do this on a weekend, as it is my only operable vehicle right now. Getting it apart and having the wrong joints would be a big problem.

I just put 4 new ones on my truck. Good quality ball joints. I work at NAPA and can look up for sure for you but I have tommorow off and won't be there until Saturday. You can look up parts at NAPA's website to know for sure.

Check Rock Auto

I have used https://www.rockauto.com/ with great success for Moog suspension parts for my 1966 Chrysler 300 convertable. They also list parts for our Dana 60 front axle/suspension. I have found them to have good prices and quick shipping.

I installed Napa ball joints at 182000, now have 250k+ with no noticeable wear. Truck is a 96 2500 4wd. While you're in there you might want to check if the axle u-joints, bearings, rotors, brake pads, tie rods, track bar, etc need replacing. I replaced most of that all at once. Whoo! Expensive! Truck drives a lot better now.

The NAPA highline has grease fittings, the low line and many other brands don't. Definetly replace the u-joint since you'll have it out anyway.
