I've been downloading music like crazy before Napster gets shut down. Anybody else using it? Talk about schizophrenic musical taste, check out some of what I've downloaded recently: songs from the musical movie "Paint Your Wagon", "Crimson and Clover" (Tommy James), "Grand Canyon Suite: Sunrise" (Aaron Copland), "The Flight of Icarus" (Iron Maiden), and "The Way You Look Tonight" (Frank Sinatra), "A Little Past Little Rock" (Lee Ann Womack).
Am I nuts, or what? I listen to everything from classical to heavy metal back to back. I'm especially enjoying finding obscure late 70's/early 80's rock that was never put on CD. Good news for any Jefferson Starship fans, "Modern Times" is finally available on an import CD, Amazon.com has it.

Andy,Napster has a bunch of Jimi Hendrix cuts you won't find anywhere else, bootleg stuff with titles that look like, I want to**** **** **** ***** *** on the TDR,check 'em out. Wish I could get DSL if for no other reason but Napster,20 minute download for a 4 minute song gets old fast.

What I've been doing is queueing up a bunch of songs before I go to work or bed. Sometimes I'll come home or wake up to find I captured a bunch of songs, other times, I'll get disconnected or something else will go wrong and I'll get nothing. I'm about to leave for Rob's soon, I'm in the process of lining up a bunch of songs to download while I'm gone. It is frustrating, getting all those "transfer errors" all the time!

My son put together a Beatles CD for me of my favorite songs. He also bought me their "1" release, but I really enjoy my custom list.

He has Ethernet access through his dorm room to transfers are quick. Not like here at home.

Hey - are the song cops going to read this thread and send us to jail?

They had to block the Napster site at the University of Nevada. Students with T1 connections in the dorms were downloading from Napster all day long and tying up the University bandwidth. Now they seem to have found a bunch of Napster clone sites and are still slowing everything down.

I am in a dorm at purdue, and the sorms have a T-3 to our selves. The university says it will not kill napster over the network, but it is limiting it to a total of 5 meg/s out of the total flow of 45meg/s. I have never used napster, but dont know how I filled my 18 gig hard drive. #ad

I used scour more than napster, then scour went bankrupt. I think gnettla will not get killed so easly, due to it not having a central server like napster.
