I have the 8.4 radio with nav, etc. Yesterday my nav couldn't find my location or plot a route. Also, the compass is not showing an accurate direction, i.e. I was heading north and the dash said I was going southwest. Thought I'd check here before taking it to the dealer in case there was an easy re-set procedure or if anyone else had the problem, what the solution was? Truck is still under the Maxcare warranty so I'm good if I have to take it to dealer. Thanks

Same thing happened to me in Kansas once, read your manual on how to recalibrate it. I was headed east but it said I was going west. Stopped at a large truck stop, got well away from everything and started the recalbration process. Felt weard driving in circles till it reset but it worked. Never had an issue again. It worked for me. Hope it works for you.

Hold in the center of the two knobs below the display and it will reboot the system clearing the error.

Looks like I may have to go the replacement route. The screen is blank now and nothing works. Tried the 'hold in both knobs' method and nothing happened.

If comes that far, go to a dealer first and let them figure it out. Also they can do way more with the wiTech to bring it back to life then the end consumer can do.

It can be the head unit but it's not guaranteed as it is fully integrated into the computer network of the truck.
We had cases that people bought new HU and still didn't work. Wasted hundreds of dollars.

And just to bring it back to memory for everyone reading this thread in the future.

It isn't a Radio like in the old days - that thing is an integral essential part of the vehicles electronics, it is the main interface to communicate with the vehicle for all kinds of stuff and settings.

So please, don't handle it like a radio.

I have an appointment with the dealer on July 30 so we'll see what they can find. I'll let everyone know in case it helps someone down the road. Thanks
