navy echange for vets ?

Windows 10 video editer?

I was just made aware that honorably discharged vets can shop on line at the navy exchange. Has anyone done this ? Is it any better than just shopping on amazon ?

Dod number can be gotten. Just wondered if there was any reason to use it rather than amazon. (Dont know what a deers data base is)

Unlike the old days there isn't a great financial reason to shop at the exchange. They don't try to compete with local stores, not even at the gas stations. Big ticket items will save sales tax, if they have what you need in stock or don't mind waiting for a special order. Even that is a wash since a lot of places here give a military discount that exceeds the sales tax rate.

Most likely the Exchanges have been outsource to for profit companies.

They have vendors for some aspects, but the exchange main store is still gov't employees. For instance, Firestone now runs the tire store here at Ft. Hood. I used to be able to buy Michelins for less than a friend of mine who owns a tire store in town could buy them even though he is a Michelin dealer. When Firestone took over their price for Michelins went way higher than the retail price of any Michelin dealer in town. Needless to say, my friend now gets my tire business.
