If someone needs to pick up some extra money and has a trailer or tow rig, this is your chance. Son (fairly new Navy guy) had his car break down Monday, 9-20 between Williamsburg and Norfolk. Started blowing oil out of the engine. I suspect he had a cam oil seal blow out. It's now parked in the grassy meadian of I-64 with a note in the windshield. We hope

He had to get back to his ship and as of last night had not had any luck finding a salvage yard that would go pick it up for salvage. He's using the phone and calling around.

I'm thinking that a couple hours work and a seal or gasket and he's back in transportation. But, at the moment he needs to get it back to the base, (or somewhere he can work on it) and it's about 1 1/2 hours away. That is if it hasn't been towed by the authorities.

PM if you're in the area and interested in some easy cash.

Thanks, RJR

I read this post last night but didn't respond since I'm not exactly close to where I'd have to be to be helpful.

Someone must be able to help this guy out...

WeLL?? I thought everyone here was gung ho back the military, help each other out. Anyone out there? He doesn't say this is a frebie, although it would really be a nice christian gesture.

Still need help?

If the car is still there, or you (your son) need other assistance, let me know. I don't exactly approve of you son being in the Navy, but I'll help anyway LOL (Just a little Inter=Service Rivalry there, HE HE HE :-laf ) I guess someone needs to scrub those decks, eh?

Guys, thanks for the support. My pc went down right after I posted the request for help and I was unable to check replys.

Talked to son today, after one week he had a chance to leave base and move the car. It had been towed, long story short, he paid the towing fee and seven days storage today (two weeks after the breakdown). Said he was gonna donate the car to a salvage yard and walk this winter.
